Crossroads

I know, I know, after reading this post and the last one you probably think that all I do is sit around watching t.v. but bear with me. There are few combinations of actors better than Sean Connery and Harrison Ford in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.” The movie itself is a Timeless classic, and yet sitting here watching I can’t help but wonder what it is that makes it so. I don’t think that it is the clever lines, or even the special effects, instead I think that it is the fact that the movie takes its audience on a journey that matters. It sounds cliche, but “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” actually makes you think. What would you do if you were presented with the key to eternal life, how would you respond to the temptation? It’s these same kind of questions that draw people into the television show LOST. Sure there are also the questions like, “What the heck is the smoke monster,” or, “who is Jacob,” but there are also the fundamental questions of what kind of person you would become under that kind of stress. Are you Jack or just an extra? That is what makes these few movies or t.v. shows timeless, they ask you to ask yourself questions.

When I read on Insidelacrosse.com that Maryland and Virginia were playing lacrosse today on ESPN2, I looked at my Dad and said, “Maryland is going to get STOMPED!” SO when I turned it on to fine Maryland up 3-1, and then watched them take a 8-2 lead as if they were playing a high school program. Virginia is the number ONE ranked team in the country; but they are dropping passes, taking poor poor shots, not to mention that their Goalie cannot save a shot today. Shamel Bratton, welcome to the ACC, Maryland Style!

I’m not going to call this one a done deal, Virginia has a plethora of fire power, and I’ve watched Maryland drop clutch games before. Anyway go watch the game for yourself or check back here in a couple hours when I have the full write up after the game. It’s half time, I’m gonna go grab a drink, it’s Maryland up 9-4.
