Pardon Our Dust…

I have always thought that was a really weird thing for people to apologize for…

…but the point is please pardon my internet dust (pixels?) as I revamp and restart crossroads for 2009, it’s gonna rock your world.

What are you saying…

…or rather, what are you not saying. I don’t know about you but every now and then I look back at a situation and wonder, “why didn’t I say, what I wanted to say?” I think that the plain answer is that we are scared, scared to speak our minds because someone might think of us as different. It’s interesting, everybody always makes the claim that they want to be different, they believe that they want to stand out but when the time comes to be different, many of us simply shrink back and coast as usual. I recently had lunch with my dad where we discussed death. Now you might find that weird but for me it was incredible. You see, we were discussing that as Christians, we find ourselves much less afraid. Afraid of the things life throws our way, but also less and less afraid of death.

With Christ as your friend and heaven as your home, the day of death becomes
sweeter than the day of birth. -Max Lucado

I think that as Christians that we can take more away from this, you see Jesus said that he came to bring us life and life to the fullest. How many of us deeply desire that full life, and how many of us today could look in the mirror and say we are living it? I believe it is fear that holds us back from experiencing the life that Christ died to give us.

So maybe the next time that you are afraid, you don’t panic, maybe instead you thank God for the life he has given you, maybe you speak the words you know you should, or you take that chance you were afraid to. All I know is that it is when we cast our fears down at the cross that we can truly live, and when we can truly live we live in Gods glory.

My first post in a long time, and it’s a doozy.

“>

I recently celebrated my twentieth birthday and was given the movie, Cloverfield, by my brother. If you havn’t seen cloverfield, don’t worry I’m not going to give anything away as far as plot goes, however you have probably seen the viral videos and previews on the internet and most likely know that the film was shot from the perspective of a hand held camara. This was quite simply an amazing move and the more I watched the documentaries on the films making, the more and more I was amazed and inspired. Making and editing videos has always been something that has interested me and to watch how this movie was made inspired me to continue and perhaps pursue making movies even bigger and better than i already have. If anyone has advise or tips for me I would love to hear them and talk with you. Currently I have nothing more than a household video camara, not the best but it’s a start, and very elementary video editing software. I am hoping to upgrade eventually to final cut pro and a Canon XH A1.

LOST Tomfoolery #2

While scanning the LOST theories forums in my spare time, call it an exercise for my brain, I stumbled upon one theory which was so interesting that it caught my fancy. That being said let’s strap in for another thrilling installment of

LOST TOMFOOLERY!!

This week on LOST Tomfoolery, Deja Vu, a glimpse of the future, or a thing of the past. For most of us LOST fans, the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 are first time visitors. However, there is some speculation some inhabitants of the Island are only experiencing Deja Vu because they have been there before. I know, i know, it seems silly but look at it from a slightly different angle then normal time. Just as in the training videos there are more than one Rabbit with the same number painted on their sides, perhaps the island has created completely separate time lines. This is evident in Season 1 episode 11. After Jack gets his ass kicked by Ethan he takes off into the woods.

“I’m not letting him do this” (Jack)
“Not Letting him what” (Kate)
“not again” (Jack)

This suggests that somehow Jack is remembering a time when Ethan successfully Killed Charlie and Jack couldn’t do anything to save him. Think about these situations as well;

Perhaps Desmond’s visions into the future are actually memories of the past.
Maybe the “Musician” who programed the looking glass’ keypad, was Charlie.

Vision This Friday

Come enjoy a night of Contemporary Christian Rock!

Vision is a collection of local Christian musicians who are coming together for a good cause. The show starts at 7:30 and includes performances by Taylor Martin, James Vore, and The Mission, and guest speaker Marvin Fullilove. Vision is family friendly and all are invited. Bring friends!

Although the concert is free to attend, donations will be accepted (and very much appreciated) to benefit Robert Vore’s Eagle Scout Project. All proceeds will go towards the construction and installation of brand new benches for several gathering areas at Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Don’t miss performances by Taylor Martin, James Vore, and The Mission and guest speaker Marvin Fullilove!

If you don’t know what this means, you should really find out.

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Hello World

Who am I? I’m just a guy living the life. I’m in college, studying to become a Doctor, but thats not who I am. Who I am is a mutt, a guitar playing Jesus Freak. I’m a way too dedicated lacrosse player who also manages to spend quality time on his Xbox360, I’m a sophomore about to spend a semester studying in Disney World, and I’ve got a kick ass family and friends who I would do anything for. Who am I, I’m me. My name is James Vore, welcome to a day in my life…
